definition of a key term

The purpose of this study is to find the reason behind what higher education students believe about the topics of politics and government. Possibly make connections with the survey findings.This is important as higher education students are the next generation of adults and will be the next CEO's and school principles.

What type of researcher am I?

Throughout my experience doing this assignment I found that I prefer quantitative data rather than qualitative as I am able to get the results of multiple participants rather that one piece of data. The reason behind this is that I may be able to find connections between the data and potentially find what caused the results, for example I may be able to find out why higher education students believe the government needs to change by comparing survey results and finding common factors like if one piece of data answered the same questions as another. Having multiple results will allow me to get a better idea of what the group my research is based on thinks.

I would prefer an idea of what the entire populous believes rather than what a single person believes, the reason is that I will have an idea of what the group believes rather than what one person believes. By completing a survey in class a few weeks ago the results show that I am a critical researcher. My views/beliefs are classified as critical as they are different compared to qualitative and quantitative researchers. For example I believe that we should supply people with the tools they need to change the world rather than doing it for them. I also believe that people should be empowered to change society rather than focus on myths. This is the type of researcher I am classified based on my beliefs.

findings

Through inspection of the survey results i have found that the majority of students do not have an interest in politics and government but they do want change to occur in the government. The majority of higher education students also want assistance from the government, this can involve things such as employment and their student loans.

throughout this survey it can be seen that higher education students want change. It may be possible that the students do not share an interest in politics as they are not satisfied with the current state of the government. It appears that students want more of an influence in the decisions of the government. The higher education students also believe that the government has too much influence in their daily lives

My topic

My aim is to see what higher education students believe about the influence the government possess, now that they have been exposed to a vast range of information. The purpose behind this research is to see how the government have communicated their image to university students. The possible outcome of this research is to see how higher education students feel about the government and what they think should happen. I hope to get students to challenge their knowledge of the government and possibly get them to reassess their opinion/s

The final idea

My project topic has honed to what uni students think about politics, the reason behind this is that I believe that our opinion changes as we learn. Surveying uni students will allow me to get improved results. I intend to survey my classmates and interview friends, this will allow me to get a better idea of what uni students think about politics.

My research question is:

What do you think about politics?

Some possible sub questions are:

• do you want to be prime minister?
• why do you want to get into politics?
• why do you not ant to get into politics?
• what would you change?
• what would you keep the same?

These are just draft questions at this point in time, they will change. I hope to get an understanding of what image/s politicians and politics are painting for generation y. This image will show how society(part of) views the actions of political parties.

I intend to survey my classmates and interview a few friends, this will allow me to gather the data i need and it will not take a long period of time.

Kids view on politics

Kids are the future. Children will grow to replace the current doctors, builders and politicians. the video i have linked shows what some kids think about politics, they are asked a number of questions that show their understanding of politics.

In the video the children discuss the reasons why they would like to be president(some), why they do not want to be president(some), what sex a president should be. this video reveals that kids do not know much about politics, this means they do not see the part of politics where the politician makes promises but ends up not keeping their work. As the students grow so will their understanding of politics, by gaining knowledge,  the children's opinions may change as their understanding evolves.

How does society influence kids?

week 2

I am interested in the idea of how society is effecting children and what they think of the world outside of school. Through this I hope to gain a view of society through the eyes of the next generation, topics such as politics and music influence kids but to what extent? In my previous blog I mentioned how I wanted to make a difference, this task may be the key to understanding what needs to be replaced from children in order for them to improve.

What has made the current generation so different? Is it the parents? Is it society? What do you think? I believe that there are multiple areas in society that influence children, if they gain a greater knowledge will their opinions change? The way I look at the world has been altered as a result of gaining knowledge through my time at uni, I want to learn what children know of society based of the knowledge they have absorbed throughout their early life.

Things such as the sex, nationality and class can all influence the opinions of children as they can all result in different experiences.

  I am a first year uni student starting my second semester, this is my first blog so forgive the mistakes. I am currently studying to be a teacher, my goal is to make a difference to the next generation so it does not end up like the current one. I do not mean to offend but the truth is that kids today need to change, this is my opinion and you are welcome to disregard it.

I enjoy watching TV shows such as Game Of Thrones and True detective. My dog Scarlet is a big part of my life and I cannot imagine it without her. I am a gamer, enjoy reading and love sleeping.

I think knowledge is the opinion formed through the things we learn, as we learn the research we have gained evolves . Think of our project as a machine, overtime we continue to upgrade as we learn.This is what I think represents research
